Many juniors will take the digital SAT for the first time on March 9 since the paper exam was retired in 2023. Students who took the PSAT last October already have a sense of what to expect when they take the SAT this year since the PSAT was digital as well. Parents often ask us how the digital SAT is different than the paper format. Compass Education Group offers insight into the new exam and how it compares to the prior SAT as well as the ACT in its blog post “The New Digital SAT.”

Fortunately, there are many resources to help students and educators prepare for the new SAT. School counselors can find useful information here. Students and families should visit this website to prepare for the SAT and access study guides, practice tests and more. Lastly, Khan Academy provides free digital SAT prep for students to help them get ready.

Good luck to all of the students taking the SAT in March and in the coming months!
